MONICA THERMAL RUFFLE SHIRT - KURT LYLE
Last night, after a blistering heatwave, my prayers were finally answered and the temperature in LA plunged to a chilly 70 degrees. (The same cannot be said for NorCal, which is currently being consumed by a blazing inferno — stay safe, guys.) I’ve been biding my time, patiently anticipating the first nip in the air to whip out this Kurt Lyle sweater, and now the moment has finally come.
The turtleneck and copious ruffles give me Victorian nightgown vibes — like something worn by my favorite American Girl Samantha (of whom I will permit no slander.) The waffle knit is cozy but still breathable, and the slightly cropped length hits perfectly at my waist. I got it at the ANTHOM sample sale, which I walked into without much expectation — it’s one of those spare, no-frills showrooms, very chic, very classy, where a plain beige jacket will run you four figures. Even at steeply discounted prices, I didn’t hold out too much hope that I’d find anything within my price range. I fell head over heels for this sweater when I spotted it on the rack, so much so that I held my breath when I turned over the price tag, for fear that sticker shock would keep us apart. Lo and behold, it was 60 percent off. I wore it out of the store.

BUTTER LIP AND CHEEK BALM - BEAUTANIQ BEAUTY
So...what’re you guys dressing up as for Halloween? I know everyone already celebrated over the weekend (or if you didn’t, you should have), but we still have the actual day to contend with, plus all the November 1st parties that didn’t get the memo. My costume this year is an e-girl, of the Tik Tok persuasion; I already got the pink hair, and I’ve procured platform boots, fishnets, a plaid skirt, and a Thrasher shirt. But the infamous telltale sign of an e-girl is the sweep of blush along her nose and cheekbones, and for that I use my absolute favorite cream blush from Beautaniq Beauty, in the shade Cocoa Rose.
I prefer cream blushes to powder ones, since they’re natural and buildable and give me a dewy flush. I smear on just a tad for my everyday look, or go more heavy-handed for my e-girl look. The Beautaniq blush blends seamlessly into my skin, and it’s filled with nourishing ingredients like apricot, coconut, and grapeseed oil. I dab it on my nose bridge, cheekbones, lips, and eyelids for an all-over rosy glow. Topped off with eyeliner hearts under my eyes, and I’m ready to...idk...pout into my phone camera?
On my wish list:

Look how frickin cute these little kidney bean cross body bags are! (The website mentioned jelly beans in the description, but c’mon, these are undeniably kidney bean shaped.) Designer Aram Lee drew inspiration from nature to design her whimsical Cloud bag, which is crafted from Italian leather and has an adjustable shoulder strap to sit higher or lower on your body. Problem is, I simply can’t decide between the red, blue, or yellow. Oh well, I’ll take one in every color, please.
