All Fired Up
Hello, happy Wednesday! We’re back to our regularly scheduled content this week. By the way, if anyone’s in the middle of checking off their gift list and feeling stumped about a particularly tricky person, feel free to drop me a line — I’d be thrilled to be your personal shopper and gift wizard!
Burning Bright
BABY LABRA HOOPS - BEADS BYAREE
I’ve always enjoyed getting into the holiday spirit, but this year I’m leaning especially hard into the festivities — I think it’s a coping mechanism for, y’know, everything. Now that the balcony’s been strung with twinkly lights, the fireplace laden with stockings, the bannister artfully draped in tinsel, the only thing left to adorn is myself. These flashy candelabra hoops fit the bill perfectly — they’re ornamental but not overtly Christmassy, so still suitable for wearing the other 11 months of the year. (They’d also be a great gift for anyone who loves Lumière from Beauty and the Beast.) Now all that’s left to do is wait for them to come back in stock!
My Cup of Tea
SUNFLOWER HAND PAINTED MUG - ART MASHA
If you’re participating in a Secret Santa or White Elephant gift exchange this year, a word of advice: no one wants a mug. Mugs are a dime a dozen, and I can guarantee you that everyone’s already got 139570 of them shoved in the back of their kitchen cupboard. However, if it’s this mug specifically we’re talking about, I’d totally make an exception. I mean, just look at that shadow action! Imagine waking up and brewing your first cuppa and watching the early morning sun stream in through your window and transform your mug into a stained glass masterpiece. I’m a night owl through and through, but this mug may just turn me into a morning person.
Heat of the Moment
PRISM CHIMINEA - PRISM OUTDOORS
This sleek, sculptural outdoor fireplace is extremely expensive, wildly impractical, and would swallow up half of my tiny backyard — but, of course, I want it anyway. Created by Drew Seskunas, an architect and professor at Parsons, it’s constructed from laser-cut riveted aluminum and apparently lightweight enough to easily pick up and reposition. Buy this and you’ll basically turn your backyard into the MoMA’s sculpture garden — with the added benefit of whipping up a couple s’mores whenever you please.
